The Investiture of the Gods is a 1990 Chinese shenmo television series written by Bing Tian, Gu Hanchang, Ouyang Yuping and Yu Youchen. The television series are based on the classical 16th-century novel Fengshen Yanyi (also known as Investiture of the Gods or Creation of the Gods) written by Xu Zhonglin and Lu Xixing.

In order to force Queen Jiang to confess, one of her eyes was gouged out while she was still alive. When Jiang Huan was escorted to Queen Jiang and confronted with her, he still insisted that the Queen sent him to assassinate her. The two princes received an urgent report from the guards and rushed back in panic. Queen Jiang died with hatred after seeing her son for the last time. Yin Jiao beheaded Jiang Huan in a rage, and threatened to kill King Zhou and Daji to avenge his mother.

Ji Chang picked up a baby on the way here and recognized him as his hundredth son. Later, the immortal Yun Zhongzi came down to earth, accepted the child as his disciple and named him Lei Zhenzi. Dong Bohou learned the news of his daughter's death from Huang Feihu. He was filled with grief and anger. He cursed King Zhou for his lack of justice in the court, and was brutally beaten by King Zhou.
