Peter Pan & the Pirates is an American animated television series based on J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan that originally aired on Fox Broadcasting Company from September 8, 1990 to September 10, 1991. Repeats continued to air until September 11, 1992. A repeat of the series' Christmas episode was aired on December 25, 1993. The series was then on Fox in re-run form on weekday mornings from November 4, 1996 to March 28, 1997. Reruns were then shown on Fox Family in 1998.

    Peter borrows a crystal from the Ice Caves while exploring with the Lost Boys. His actions accidentally summon Kyros the Ice King, who is not pleased by this theft. The angry monarch retaliates by creating a huge blizzard in Neverland that freezes everyone solid. Peter has no choice but to appease the Ice King by returning the crystal - but first he has to thaw all his friends out so that they can help him.

    While exploring a cave, Peter, Slightly, and John open a treasure chest that contains the ghost of Captain Patch (a.k.a. Jaspar Hook). Patch's ghost has grown powerful enough to summon his old ship The Rake from beyond to help him exact revenge on his younger brother James for murdering him years ago. The evil ghost won't stop at destroying Hook and the Jolly Roger – all of Neverland is at risk. To survive this threat, Peter Pan and Captain Hook must combine forces and banish Patch forever.

    Hook makes it abundantly clear that he has no wish to celebrate his birthday because it serves only as a reminder that he's growing older. Later, Peter fools Smee into taking a bottle of spring water that supposedly will give eternal youth to whoever drinks or bathes in it. The ruse is made convincing when Hook tests it on Short Tom and Peter switches the parrot for an egg while the Captain sleeps. Soon Hook is off chasing the source of the water, but what will happen when he learns it was all just a cruel prank?
