   In a windy and snowy night, PAK Tin Yu of Black Sabre Sect and his wife with a baby son accompanied by his younger brother and the latter's wife attended a dinner reception hosted by MA Hung Kwan of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect at Plum Monastery. The ladies went inside the monastery to pay tribute while the men drank toasts in a pavilion outside the monastery. While the meal was being served, the PAKs were besieged and attacked from an ambush. A serious fight ensued. It was great bloodshed. The PAKs died. Twenty years after the assassination of the PAKs, an orphan called FU Hung Suet grew up and carried with him a black sabre. He was in search for the assassins who had killed his parents. YIP Hoi, the disciple of Master LI who was very skilful at darting knives was on his way back to his home town, the City of Bin to unveil the mystery of his real identity.    MA Hung Kwan of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect invited YIP Hoi and FU Hung Suet to visit his Sect and to attend a gathering. Madam SUM Sam, FU informer advised FU to be careful and it would be much better for him to get to know the place well before he attended the gathering. YIP Hoi went to the headquarters of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect on a sedan and on his way he met Mr. Spider, MO Yung and other veterans.‧ All of them had been invited by MA. When all the guests had arrived, MA Hung Kwan greeted the guests and said that in the past the Ten Thousand Horses Sect and the ‧ Black Sabre Sect were allies and members of the two sects were brothers to each other. He said that no matter how difficult it was,' he would find out the identity of the assassins who had killed PAK Tin Yu. Having heard MA's statement, all the guests present assured MA that they would assist in the search. The guests stayed behind.… ...

   MA Hung Kwan informed his guests that thirteen of his men had been killed at about four o'clock in the morning and he interrogated YIP about where he had been. Nevertheless MA's son testified that at the material time he saw YIP chatting with Miss MA Fong Ling, his sister. YIP, was cleared of the suspicion. The next day, MA Hung Kwan led YIP to pay tribute at the tombs of PAK Tin Yu. He told YIP that at the time he buried the PAKs, he could not find the famous black sabre. He wondered whether FU Hung Suet was the descendant of the assassins. MA Hung Kwan then discussed the matter with KUNF Suen, one of his fighters and doubted if FU Hung Suet was the descendant of PAK Tin Yu. Both of them were afraid that FU might take revenge on them.    YIP Hoi met Miss TING Ling Lam on his way to Goodbye Inn. He could not get rid of her and Miss TING then stayed in the inn. YIP introduced Miss TING to Miss CHUI Lun and asked CHUI to take care of TING. TING then thought that YIP had an affair with CHUI. YIP informed FU Hung Suet of Spider's death and he suspected that MO Yung was the killer. Later they found a stranger in MO Yung's clothes. They questioned him and came to know that MO Yung was dead. The stranger led them to the place where the body of MO Yung lied. YIP examined the scene and guessed, in the absence of any clues to support fighting or struggle prior to death, that MO Yung's body must have been deliberately removed to the present place. Miss TING Ling Lam was jealous of Miss MA Fong Ling when she noticed that YIP was often accompanied by Miss MA. She fought with Miss MA and subsequently hurt her.… ...

   YIP Hoi returned home late but he saw a suspicious person going into the room of SIU Bit Lei, the operator of Goodbye Inn. He tried to follow him but he was discovered. Nevertheless he was invited to join the group to chat. SIU Bit Lei told YIP Hoi that someone was prepared to pay 30,000 teals to kill MA Hung Kwan. MA Hung Kwan had set off for his journey. The main purpose for his trip was to hire a professional assassin for 20,000 teals. He found LO Siu Kai, a famous swordsman and instructed him to kill a person whose name would be provided to him later. YIP Hoi saw a silhouette which led him to the home of FU Hung Suet. FU was talking with Madam SUM Sam who worked for MA Hung Kwan. YIP came to know that Madam SUM had been a maid of Princess Flower. She deliberately worked for MA and waited for opportunity to kill MA.… ...

   YIP Hoi told MA Hung Kwan that someone was going to kill him. Having known the situation, MA requested YIP to take care of his daughter in case he died but YIP declined to be committed. Madam SUM Sam met YIP and asked him whether he would be prepared to marry Miss MA Fong Ling. YIP said that he did not love her. Madam SUM then suggested paying YIP 5,000 teals in return for his promise to take Miss MA away from the City of Bin. This was also refused by YIP. YIP also told Hiss MA Fong Ling that he did not love her at all. Miss MA was very sad and disappointed. She thought that it was due to the attempt by FU Hung Suet to rape her that YIP had become uninterested in her. She therefore tried to persuade her father to kill FU. On his way to the City of Bin, LO Siu Kai met Miss TING Ling Lam.… ...
